Right after my flight from Shanghai (refer to my previous post for my Shanghai Trip), took a 2 hours sleep, did some errands and the next morning, drove down to south, the road to Ultra Singapore!
In 2016, Ultra Music Festival was rated the Best Rave Festival and "the festival you must attend". Lucky enough, the company did made an event down here in Asia, closest to Malaysia which is in Singapore!
The dates clashed with Ultra Korea. Initially, the plan was to head to Korea for the party. Right after Ultra Singapore released their lineups for this year, sorry to Ultra Korea, I'm heading to Singapore!
The event took part for two days, 11 & 12/6/2017. These two days of the event, I can say it was F**KING AMAZING! AS the normal me, going tot his Rave events, I MUST GET SOMETHING AS A MEMORY. From hotel to Marina Expo Level 4 to get my tickets, then to Ultra Park. Body check and bag scan, boom I'm in the house!
Day 1
First stop, to the merchandise shop! Gotten some shirts for myself and friends, and a bag. Total spent, close to S$400. Crazy right? IT'S UMF! WHO CARES?! I was all the while in the mainstage for this day. Didn't move to resistance and live stage as the DJ's there but for Rich Chigga, I was there for 30 minutes. God damn food trucks was located at the end of the live stage, so I gotta marathon there, just to get my tummy filled.
I sort of arrived late, initial plan was to arrive before 2:30pm. Halfway I've gotten hungry, friend gotten hungry, so we stopped by at JB to grab some lunch (currency exchange issue, became cheapskate). Stuck at the Woodlands Highway to Singapore checkpoint for 1:30hours, and we missed Showtek set. Rushed all the way, a Mercedes E-Class came to pick us up from the hotel to Ultra Park, and when we enter, just nice for DASH BERLIN!
Dash Berlin played his set like legend, and then cloud became cloudy, wind start blowing. Out of the sudden, massive heavy rain! That didn't stop us from partying, instead we partied harder! :) Jumped here and there, stepping on the mud and we dont care (god bless my yeezy) mud splash!
After Dash Berlin came Hardwell. Since I heard him DJ before back in Singapore when his United We Are tour, we took this chance, head down to the Live Stage and get some food! Just so nice, Rich Chigga was performing. While grabbing hold some buffalo wings and beer, rain start to pour again. That's when we felt like rich beggars with our ponchos, eating under the rain. I don't know is it because I'm hungry, the wet chicken taste so good lol!
Bid goodbye to Chigga, we headed back to the Ultra Mainstage, which was still Hardwell set. HOLY MOTHAAAA! Hardwell dropped some sick ass song, everyone went like Adrenaline mode, started going crazy, humming the song.
Done with Hardwell, here comes the finale for Day 1. My idol, who made me to DJ, which is Tiesto! I was like "TIESTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" He never failed to impress the crowd with his DJ skills. Although he is old, but he is still good! Remeber, he is the person who found Hardwell talent, and brought him up into this DJ scene. Middle of his set, Hardwell came up and did like a Tiesto vs Hardwell. All I can say, that scene was like Master and Student battling! Tiesto ended his set with Fireworks. And that's the end.
With our soaking wet body, clothes and muddy shoes, we went to clean our shoes and feet (not ourselves). If so happen we stayed at MBS, it will be more awesome but money forbids haha!
A BMW 6 Series came to pick us up, sent us back to hotel. Friends all went from hero to zero after the night, I went from hero to GOD!
Day 2
Before I headed for Day 2. I was actually in USS again with them (it was their first). Became a tour guide and we parted for the time being after 5pm, as I was heading for Ultra. This day, special thanks to Mercedes Benz for the Suite pass, allowing me to have a beautiful eye view straight to the Mainstage!
Right after we parted, I headed down to Ritz-Carlton and took a pee. Haha! I need a rest, so sort of like, took a rest on their couch, then headed to Ultra Park. Premium General Access (PGA) to Ultra Park with the White Wrist Band with Mercedes Benz logo, made me look so "atas"! Okay Day 2.
Sat the Vellfire, went Ultra Park and after entering, NICKY ROMERO WAS ON THE MAINSTAGE! His message was :If you don't know me, I'm Nicky Romero" and I was like "WHO THE HELL DONT KNOW WHO YOU ARE NICKY" with rage! He played his famous track "Toulouse", wahhhhhh when the drop came I felt the Mercedes Suite was having an earthquake, all those jumping feel and I went on shock!
Right after Nicky set, was straight to Steve Aoki. Aoki, your set was amazing! You dropped your new track (which will be released this summer), and as well made a live Movie Video for your track at Ultra Singapore, the cake throwing, simply just amazing. JUST AMAZING! But unfortunately, I didn't stay for the whole set as I was rotating to the Live Stage because of..........KSHMR! He brought his Indian Dancer, Live Band and I can say the Live Stage really went alive! Starting off with Wildcard, I didn't regret standing there, quite a distance but the music is amazing!
Thanks KSHMR for the Live set, it's time for the closing. of Day 2 and UMF SIngapore 2017. Steve Angello was the closing headliner for Day 2. If you don't know who is he, he is one of the three DJ's from Swedish House Mafia (legends). If you don't know who is Swedish House Mafia, go YouTube and search them. I was being entertained at the Suite, and allowing me to have a perfect view of the final performance. The closing will be great if there's like a sudden set where Axwell and Ingrosso joins Angello on stage and relive the SHM moment. That will be fantastic. Not much of the fireworks for the closing (as comparing to Tiesto @ Day 1), but overall it was great.
Right after the set, my BMW M5 was outside waiting for me and sent me straight to the hotel. From hotel, I bid goodbye to Ultra, and the people I met from various countries (sorry I've forgot your names).
To sum this up, UMF Singapore was amazing. Music did unite us as one. Regardless of age, ethnicity, we are all equal. Thank you to Murphy and Vicky for the companion in Day 1. As well, special thanks with full of love to Mercedes Benz Malaysia (MBM) for the Day 2 opportunity, the Gins, Beers, and Ice Popsicle! Please invite me for next year UMF! :D
